It looks like 2014 is already the most turbulent year ever for Google search engine rankings. I’m still investigating what looks like Google turning up the dial on something. According to Algoroo.com data (see image below), from February 3 through February 10, 2014 there have been more fluctuations in SERPS since they began tracking. This time period is the first the change meter has been in the red for more than two consecutive days, currently at 8 consecutive days.
Google Algorithm Changes from Algoroo.com
It doesn’t seem like any of the sites I usually rely on (Moz, SEW, SEL, Rusty Brick, Google Webmaster Central Blog) to report algorithm changes are reporting anything yet. I’m currently looking into some Google organic traffic drops on a couple of sites I monitor. The image to the right is for a site I monitor which is of particular concern, but I know they’re also going through some major changes to their website. Mozcast is also reporting some above average temperatures (their measure of turbulence) but I’ve been unable to figure out what it’s related to.
Anyone else seeing any major, unexplained, increases or decreases in your Google organic search traffic?
